Here's what we've been up to - a mix of ground-up builds, thoughtful renovations, and spaces that actually work with their surroundings instead of fighting 'em.

This one's pretty close to our hearts. The clients wanted net-zero but didn't wanna live in what they called a "science experiment." We managed to pull off passive house certification while keeping things feeling warm and livable. Triple-glazed windows, serious insulation, and a heat recovery system that actually works.

Adaptive reuse of an old warehouse. Kept the brick, the timber beams, the character - just made it work for modern office needs. Natural light was the big challenge here.

1890s commercial building that'd seen better days. Working with heritage committees can be a pain, but we got there. Restored the facade, modernized everything behind it. The building inspector called it "witchcraft" when we showed him the new systems.

Tiny footprint, big impact. Only 650 square feet but feels way more spacious thanks to some clever planning and a whole lot of natural light. Green roof, rainwater collection, the works. Proved you don't need a mansion to live well.

Public spaces are tricky 'cause they gotta work for everyone. Accessibility was priority number one here. Also snuck in geothermal heating and a living wall that the local school kids help maintain.

Turned an underused parking lot into actual community space. Permeable paving, native plantings, flexible seating. Now it's packed every weekend with farmers markets and stuff. That's the kind of transformation that makes this job worth it.
Scarborough, ON - 2021
Steep site, amazing views, nervous structural engineers. We cantilevered the main living space out over the slope so you feel like you're floating above the ravine. Solar panels are hidden on the roof, and the whole thing's oriented to maximize passive solar gain in winter while staying cool in summer. The owners say they barely touch their thermostat anymore.
Won a sustainability award, which was nice, but honestly the best part was the client's email saying their extended family now fights over who gets to visit on holidays.

Converting churches is always emotional. This 1920s beauty became four residential units. Kept the stained glass, exposed the original timber, maintained the exterior exactly as it was.

Former garment factory turned into shared studio space for artists and designers. High ceilings, tons of light, and we kept all the industrial character. Added a rooftop garden where tenants can actually grow stuff. The HVAC system uses 40% less energy than code requires, and nobody even notices it's there - which is exactly how it should be.
We're always up for tackling something new. Whether it's a full build, a renovation, or just bouncing around some ideas - let's talk.
